Meet Our Competition Winners

Subscribe to Email Updates

I recently had the privilege of once more driving across Melbourne to meet our 2019 winners of the Re-enrolment Competition. We are extremely passionate about what we do and so we began this competition in 2017 to show our families and students how much we value them and how invested we are in those students reaching their goals. It is a rare opportunity to visit the homes of our TutorBright families and remind ourselves of the important work we do to help improve the lives of kids. Tutoring is all about people and this competition is a celebration of some great people. A very big congratulations to our parent and prize winners Joe, Steve & Amanda.

First Prize – A Year’s Worth of Tutoring (Joe and Talia)

Congratulations to Joe and Talia on winning first prize, a year’s worth of tutoring!  Joe couldn’t quite believe it when I rang to tell him he was the lucky winner. He told me how they had sought out tutoring from TutorBright because he wanted an expert to assist his daughter Talia in becoming more independent with her homework. Khadija, one of our many wonderful tutors,  started working with Talia in July last year and the results have been nothing but positive. When I asked Talia about how the tutoring had helped her, this is what she said;

"The tutoring has allowed me to be organised. I am now really good at multiplication and dividing decimals. With English, my grammar has really improved in understanding capitals. I now take more time to proofread and I think without the tutoring I would not have learned about how to be better organised which has definitely helped me with my homework and school".

Second Prize – iPad (Steve, Jack & Sean)

Congratulations to Steve and his kids Jack and Sean on winning our second prize. They were the lucky winners of a new iPad.The education system and our world more generally is increasingly utilising technology as a tool for learning. Steven told me that he has seen a big difference in both boys because of the tutoring. The weekly sessions, he says, have provided structure and a place where the kids feel comfortable to ask questions without the pressures of the classroom enviroment. Steve has been really happy with the process and looks forward to the ongoing sessions with their tutors Tim and Bianca.

Third Prize - $250 Visa Gift Vouchers (Amanda & Abby)

Congratulations to Abby and Amanda who took out third prize winning a Visa Gift Voucher valued at $250. Amanda was very pleased saying that the vouchers would be a great help for the family and they would probably all go towards the weekly shop at Woolworths! Amanda talked to me about how Abby’s confidence in Maths has increased tremendously since having the tutoring. She also told me there was an instant connection between Abby and her tutor Catherine and this has made for a very special positive learning experience. Abby went from feeling nervous about starting tutoring to looking forward to it every week!

It was a pleasure to meet some of the families from the TutorBright community and hearing about the genuine difference tutoring can make in a child’s life. We look forward to continuing providing the support to our students and families throughout 2019 and beyond. Here’s to the love of learning!
